# Add business knowledge

Index approved pages, documents and text for your agents.

## Add sources
1. Open **Build → Knowledge base** and select **Add knowledge base**.
2. Give it a name and description.
3. Select **Add → Add web pages**, **Upload files** or **Add text**.
4. Name each source, then save.
5. Select the saved base and inspect indexing progress in its index panel.
6. In the agent editor, attach the base under **Knowledge base**, save and test.

Public web sources must use HTTPS. The crawler cannot index a private intranet or a page requiring your browser login. Use only material your clinic has approved for the agent.

## File support
Uploads support UTF-8 TXT, MD, CSV and JSON, plus PDF and DOCX, up to 4 MB per file. PDF and DOCX processing depends on document extraction; inspect the resulting text before trusting it. A saved base is not proof that every source finished indexing.

For **Google Drive**, **Microsoft OneDrive** or **Notion**, first create a customer-owned connection in **Integrations**, select permitted documents, and import them. Connecting an account does not automatically authorize every file or keep every source current.

## Keep information useful
Prefer a small set of authoritative facts: hours, services, addresses, prices the agent may quote, appointment policies and escalation instructions. Remove contradictory or expired documents. Re-index changed content and confirm the source status before testing.

Ask the agent questions whose answers you know, then ask a question absent from the sources. It should use approved facts when available and offer a staff handoff when it cannot verify an answer. A knowledge base is not a live appointment database.
