# Calendly

Connect Calendly, obtain the required access and configure permitted actions.

The API adapter is implemented. Validate your own account and authorized actions before routing production calls.

## Before you start

Connect the account belonging to this business and workspace. Vendor subscriptions, API limits and role permissions still apply.

**API:** Calendly API v2 and Scheduling API

**Authentication:** Bearer personal access token or customer-managed OAuth access token

## Get access and connect

1. Open Calendly Integrations & apps → API and webhooks and generate a personal access token, or register an OAuth app in Calendly Developer Portal for distribution.
2. Save the token in the encrypted Calendly connection in Verbatik. Test connection reads /users/me.
3. Read event types, choose their canonical event_type URI and query a maximum seven-day availability range.
4. Use Scheduling API POST /invitees to book. Provide the event's required question answers and event location if configured. Existing configured locations are used when a location override is not supplied.
5. Reconnect OAuth access tokens when expired. Use each invitee's reschedule_url for Calendly's supported rescheduling flow.

## Account requirements

- Calendly account with the selected event type
- Scheduling API access and the appropriate plan/permissions
- External OAuth distribution requires a registered developer app

## Permissions

- `scheduled_events:write for direct booking/cancellation`
- `User, event type and scheduled event read permissions for the configured actions`

Grant the subset needed for the actions you enable. API scopes do not override the connected user’s record permissions or vendor validation rules.

## Connection fields

- `accessToken` — API key or OAuth access token (required). Secret fields are saved as workspace credentials.

## Available actions

- `test_connection` — **Read**. Read the authenticated Calendly user.
- `list_event_types` — **Read**. List available event types for a Calendly user URI returned by the profile.
- `check_availability` — **Read**. Read event-type slots. Calendly limits each requested range to seven days.
- `get_booking` — **Read**. Read a scheduled event's status.
- `list_invitees` — **Read**. Read invitees, cancel_url and reschedule_url for an event.
- `create_booking` — **Write**. Book an invitee through Calendly's Scheduling API and return its real scheduled-event identifier.
- `cancel_booking` — **Write**. Cancel a scheduled event. This cancels the event for all its invitees.

## Provider-specific behavior

Availability, booking and cancellation depend on the customer’s Scheduling API access. Direct rescheduling is not interchangeable with creating another booking: use the returned reschedule URL when that is the supported provider flow.

## Verify before going live

Run Test connection and one read action against a known permitted record. Then test each intended write in an authorized sandbox. Check the provider’s own record and the Verbatik receipt. Publish the agent after assigning its tools. If a write has an unknown outcome, reconcile it with the vendor before trying again.
