# Create and publish agents

Understand drafts, agent types, editor settings and deployment.

## Choose the right agent
**Single prompt** puts the conversation instructions in one system prompt. Start here for a receptionist, support assistant or straightforward lead qualification.

**Conversation flow** divides a conversation into connected nodes. Use it when a task needs explicit branches or a consistent sequence.

**Chat agent** handles text conversations. Text uses the agent's configured tools and instructions; it does not validate voice quality, phone routing or human transfers.

## Editor checklist
1. Open **Agents** and select your agent.
2. Edit its name and **Description** so your team can identify its purpose.
3. Review the prompt and welcome message.
4. Choose **Voice & language** and the voice model for voice agents.
5. Review **Functions**, **Knowledge base**, **Call settings**, **Post-call extraction**, **Privacy & recordings** and **Webhooks & MCP** as required.
6. Save, test and inspect the results before publishing.

**Save** persists the current draft. **Publish** saves a configuration snapshot and increments the agent version. The version dialog shows whether a version has been published. Do not assume an unsaved editor change is part of a test or live deployment.

## Organize and reuse
Use search, channel filters and folders in **Agents** to find an agent. The row menu offers actions including duplicate and move to folder. A duplicate starts as a draft. JSON import expects a Verbatik agent export; it does not translate a different platform's schema or copy its credentials.

Publishing alone does not route calls. Assign the published agent to the intended phone number or widget, then perform an end-to-end test of that deployment.
