# Voice-minute pricing and billing

Understand the AI rate, carrier usage and recurring number rental.

Verbatik’s managed AI voice prices are in US dollars per connected voice minute, charged proportionally by the second. Your selected engine determines the AI voice rate.

For example, 90 connected seconds of Mistral AI voice is $0.225 before separate charges and any applicable rounding shown in the ledger. The provider’s underlying token price is not your Verbatik customer rate.

## What is separate

- **Carrier calling usage:** phone and transfer legs can incur carrier fees. Destination and route affect these charges.
- **Phone-number rental:** recurring monthly rental and any setup fee are shown in the number purchase review. The displayed quote is the amount to review.
- **Messaging:** SMS is charged by its messaging usage/segments and applicable carrier costs, rather than AI voice minutes.
- **Taxes and regulatory charges:** review the applicable quote and invoice details.

If you bring your own carrier connection, that carrier bills the service held in your account. A browser voice session has no ordinary telephone carrier leg, but AI voice usage still applies. Do not assume an agent handoff or a second carrier leg is free.

## Review your workspace

Open **Billing** to inspect available credit, recorded usage and transactions. Choose the correct workspace: an integration, balance and call history belong to that workspace. If a service requires credit or account activation, a disabled or unfunded account can prevent it even when an agent is published.

Production billing activation and paid phone/SMS access are currently controlled by Verbatik. Contact support to activate the applicable services after setup and testing. A visible rate card does not itself activate charging, fund an account or authorize outbound calls.

## Before buying a number

Read the monthly rental, setup charge and due-now amount in **Review number purchase**. Quotes expire and availability is rechecked. For workspace-credit rental, the confirmation authorizes recurring rental until release, including overdue rental if credit runs out. A failed call does not cancel the number rental.
